If you’re a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results).
Is Saints QB Drew Brees still safe QB for daily fantasy leagues? Even still, spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.
So here are three Saints and one Packer that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from DraftKings)
QB Drew Brees (NO) - $6,100
Even if Drew Brees isn’t quite the quarterback he once once, his pass-catchers - with or without Michael Thomas - are still some of the best he’s had. Alvin Kamara can give Brees plenty of passing yards with yards after the catch. As the fourteenth most expensive quarterback available this week, $1,900 cheaper Lamar Jackson, Brees is actually a solid value play this week.
RB Alvin Kamara (NO) - $7,900
Speaking of Kamara, he doesn’t provide quite the value that Brees does, as he’s still the second-most expensive running back, but he’s facing the second-worst run defense in the NFL this week. Without Michael Thomas, the offense has been rolling through Kamara, and he has four touchdowns already through the season’s first two weeks.
WR Robby Anderson (CAR) - $6,000
Robby Anderson is slowly emerging as the number one receiving option for Teddy Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers, but because Marshon Lattimore could be the one lining up against him - and we know Lattimore’s struggles in 2020 - Anderson could be in for a big game this week. Considering Anderson comes $2,100 cheaper than the most expensive wide receiver available this week, he also provides solid value.
TE Jared Cook (NO) - $5,500
Jared Cook became Drew Brees’s favorite target on third downs last week, and without Michael Thomas and with Emmanuel Sanders only just now learning the Saints playbook, Cook’s chemistry with Brees has been invaluable for this Saints offense. Despite Cook’s solid numbers so far in 2020, he’s still only the sixth-most expensive tight end available this week, $1,500 cheaper than Kansas City’s Travis Kelce.
My full daily fantasy lineup this week:
