If you’re a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results).
Is Saints QB Drew Brees still safe QB for daily fantasy leagues? Even still, spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.
Normally I try to find four players for your daily fantasy lineups from each week’s Saints game, but this week, the pickings are slim. So here is one Saint and one Chicago Bear that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from DraftKings)
QB Drew Brees (NO) - $6,300
Even if Drew Brees isn’t quite the quarterback he once once, his pass-catchers - with or without Michael Thomas - are still some of the best he’s had. Alvin Kamara can give Brees plenty of passing yards with yards after the catch. As the eleventh most expensive quarterback available this week, $1,800 cheaper than Patrick Mahomes, the Brees play this week is more about value than the expectation he’s going to have a monster game.
TE Jimmy Graham (CHI) - $4,600
Speaking of Saints, let’s talk about a former Saint: tight end Jimmy Graham. Graham has yet to really find the sustained level of elite play he had in New Orleans since his trade to the Seattle Seahawks, but he’s starting to produce more of late with the Chicago Bears. As the eighth-most expensive tight end, $2,400 cheaper than Travis Kelce, he provides decent value facing a Saints defense that has struggled to cover tight ends in 2020 - anyone remember “The Darren Waller Game?”
My full daily fantasy lineup this week:
QB: Drew Brees (NO) - $6,300
RB: Josh Jacobs (LV) - $6,200
RB: Giovani Bernard (CIN) - $5,800
WR: Davante Adams (GB) - $8,800
WR: AJ Green (CIN) - $4,500
WR: JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT) - $5,400
TE: Jimmy Graham (CHI) - $4,600
FLEX: Devin Singletary (RB - BUF) - $5,100
DST: Bills (vs Patriots) - $3,300
