Which Wide Receivers are trending upwards going into week 10?

Saints vs. 49ers

Richie James - WR (SF)

With multiple WRs for the 49ers still on the Covid-19 list, James may once again be the main option for the 49ers when they meet the Saints on Sunday afternoon. James performed well as the top option for San Francisco against a tough Packers secondary, catching 9 passes for 184 yards and a TD. James could once again see a large volume of passes this week if the 49ers receivers are still depleted.

Around the League

Curtis Samuel - WR (CAR)

Samuel scored for the third week in a row and has improved on his fantasy output each week since week 2. Even with Christian McCaffrey back in the lineup, Samuel managed to catch 9 passes for over 100 yards and a touchdown. As opposing defenses are focused on stopping Robby Anderson and DJ Moore, Samuel has managed to be a reliable third option for the Panthers, getting 7+ touches in all but one game since week 2. Samuel is certainly on the rise and should be rostered in most leagues, but be wary of relying on a weekly touchdown for Samuel to be a good start.

Broncos Receivers

Jerry Jeudy, KJ Hamler, and Tim Patrick each had 10+ points in their game against the Falcons. Jeudy and Patrick are each averaging around 9 points per game while Hamler is beginning to get rolling after a slow start to the year. With the rushing attack not yielding much in Denver, and Noah Fant constantly hobbled by injuries, the trio of Bronco receivers could see more and more looks as the season goes on. I would target Jeudy first, then Patrick, then Hamler, and expect Jeudy and Patrick to be decent FLEX plays going forward while Hamler is a bench option with some upside.

Duke Johnson - RB (HOU)

David Johnson was knocked out of the game against Jacksonville with a concussion on Sunday, which created an opportunity for Duke Johnson to earn 20 touches and convert one into a touchdown. Duke Johnson is really the only option at RB with any experience for Houston as long as David Johnson is out, so I would expect Duke Johnson to receive his fair share of carries this week against an average Browns run defense.
