CSC Staff Picks Week 12: Thankful to not be the Falcons

We might not have Drew Brees, but it could be so much worse for the Saints.

NFL: Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

With the 2020 NFL season now entering Week 12, we’re continuing our new weekly bit where some of the staff here at Canal Street Chronicles tries to pick winners and losers for every NFL game each week.

In Week 11, it was generally a good week for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints were able to take care of business against the division rival Atlanta Falcons. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, fighting for second place in the division, lost to the Los Angeles Rams, and the NFC North-leading Green Bay Packers dropped their contest to the Indianapolis Colts. When all was said and done, the Saints became the #1 seed in the NFC.

This week, the entire NFC South is back in action, with the Saints heading to Denver to face the Broncos, the Falcons hosting the Los Vegas Raiders, the Panthers facing the Vikings in Minnesota, and the Buccaneers hosting the reigning Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. The early games in the week are causing confusion among the CSC staff this week, with predictions mixed for the two Thanksgiving games and a handful of the early Sunday games, but as the day goes on, the picks become more unanimous.

The CSC staff is unanimous in their predictions that the Raiders will give the Falcons another loss, so in honor of Thanksgiving, let’s all just be thankful that we’re not the Falcons.

Here are our live-updating picks:

We have another guest this week joining us to make selections, and this week it’s actor Winsor Harmon, most known for his role of Thorne Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, playing the part for over 20 years. Here are Winsor’s picks this week:

Texans, Cowboys, Steelers, Bills, Colts, Vikings, Browns, Giants, Cardinals, Dolphins, Raiders, Saints, Rams, Chiefs, Packers, and Seahawks

A lot of “safe” picks in there, but credit to Winsor for really going out on a limb on some other picks too.

Here’s how past guests have done:

  • Former Saints cornerback Delvin Breaux, Week 1: 12-4 (.750)
  • Former Saints General Manager Randy Mueller, Week 2: 13-3 (.813)
