The New Orleans Saints are being as cautious as they can with quarterback Drew Brees, wanting him to make a full recovery before he returns to the field. It was reported after his last throwing session that his status for next Sundays game against the Kansas City Chiefs is now in doubt. It is looking more and more like it with be Taysom Hill vs. Patrick Mahomes next Sunday as the Saints defense will face their toughest test of the season.

Brees will now look to make his return against the Minnesota Vikings on Christmas day, a revenge game that I am sure the team circled on their calendar. The Saints are currently 10-2 and can lock up the NFC South with a win today against the Eagles, all the more reason for the Saints to be patient with Brees, as all they will have left to play for should they defeat Philadelphia is seeding.

You can read more about Brees’s injury and his placement on the IR here.
