CSC’s Fantasy Start/Sit, Vikings vs. Saints

Which players will give you a fantasy Christmas present

Start: Emmanuel Sanders

The Saints are quite depleted at the wide receiver position, only three WRs are currently without an injury designation, leaving Sanders to be the primary target for Drew Brees on Christmas day. Sanders is averaging 10 points per game the last two weeks, and the Vikings are the 27th ranked defense against WRs, giving up 25+ points in every game but two this year. I would not expect a huge day with Brees still working to get back to 100%, but if you are looking for a player with a high floor, then I would look to Sanders.

Sit: Saints D/ST

The Saints defense has cooled off over the last three weeks, scoring 6 or fewer points each game since Week 13. The Vikings offense is loaded with playmakers and has given up single-digit points the last two weeks. If you are going to need a strong performance from a defense in your championship game, I wouldn’t count on the Saints D/ST. This is not to say they will not have a decent week however, as Kirk Cousins is one of the more inconsistent quarterbacks in the league and games on short weeks are usually low scoring. However, you should be able to find a better option.
