3 daily fantasy players from Week 13: Saints vs Falcons

Three players for your daily fantasy lineups.

NFL: NFC Wild Card-Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints Chuck Cook -USA TODAY Sports

If you’re a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results).

Is Saints QB Drew Brees still safe QB for daily fantasy leagues? Even still, spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.

Normally I try to find four players for your daily fantasy lineups from each week’s Saints game, but this week, the pickings are slim. So here is two Saints and one Falcon that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from DraftKings)

QB Taysom Hill (NO) - $6,300

Taysom Hill might only be a fraction of what Drew Brees is as a passer, but what he can do with his legs is incredibly valuable in fantasy football. Taysom has scored two rushing touchdowns in each of his two games as the Saints starting quarterback, including two touchdowns two weeks ago against these same Atlanta Falcons. At $1,400 cheaper than the most expensive quarterback available in daily fantasy this week, he’s an incredible value play this week.

WR Michael Thomas (NO) - $7,000

What Taysom Hill lacks in accuracy compared to Drew Brees, he makes up in a concerted focus on Michael Thomas in the passing game. We saw Michael Thomas’s first 100-yard receiving game of 2020 two weeks ago against the Falcons, and there’s no reason to think Taysom won’t look Thomas’s way early and often on Sunday. At $2,000 cheaper than the most expensive wide receiver available in daily fantasy this week, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year provides surprising value.

TE Hayden Hurst (ATL) - $4,000

Austin Hooper might be in Cleveland, but Matt Ryan has found a new security blanket at tight end in the former Baltimore Raven Hayden Hurst. Hurst is an above average pass-catcher at his position, and considering the Saints struggles in the recent past against opposing tight ends (Darren Waller, anyone?), he’s a decent option for redzone targets since we know Matt Ryan won’t look Julio Jones’s way.

My full daily fantasy lineup this week:

QB: Taysom Hill (NO) - $6,300

RB: Miles Sanders (CAR) - $6,700

RB: Chris Carson (SEA) - $6,300

WR: Michael Thomas (NO) - $7,000

WR: Brandin Cooks (HOU) - $5,600

WR: Sterling Shepard (NYG) - $5,300

TE: Hayden Hurst (ATL) - $4,400

FLEX: Nyhiem Hines (RB - IND) - $5,300

DST: Vikings (vs Jaguars) - $3,500
