The New Orleans Saints agree to terms with former Saint, Lion, Redskin and Bear full back Michael Burton on a one-year deal. The Saints brought in Burton last offseason to compete for the full back job that Zach Line eventually won, Burton didn’t make the team. With Line entering retirement, the Saints are signing Burton who is the projected starter if they do not add anyone else.

Michael Burton has played five season in the NFL and has 8 career carries for 11 yards and 9 receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown. Saints like to integrate the full back into the offense some way every year. Burton has also had much success on special teams, a key stat for the Saints.
Burton was primarily used as a special teams player and had 177 special teams reps across both kickoff/punt teams for Washington in 2019.
