The Saints have agree to a one year deal per Aaron Wilson with strong safety D.J. Swearinger.
D.J. Swearinger to (Saints) on one-year, $1.1M deal, $50K first game 53-man roster bonus, 1.05M base salary
— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) March 22, 2020
The deal is 1.05 mil for a base salary with a 50K roster bonus if Swearinger makes the final 53 roster. D.J. was drafted by the Texans in the 2nd round of the 2013 draft. Total tackles: During his NFL career he has 411 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 14 interceptions, forced 9 fumbles recovering 4, and deflected 42 passes.
This is maybe another sign the Saints are willing to move on from Vonn Bell. It’s entirely possible the Saints will ultimately retain Bell but it is clear they are covering their bases.

That was yesterday’s tweet, so scratch D.J. Swearinger from the list. He has been healthy during his career and seems to be a safe pickup during a time when teams aren’t able to give physicals prior to signings.
