On the first day of the NFL Draft, you do not often see teams re-signing special teamers. And then there are the Saints. Darren Rizzi refers to the third day of the draft as “Special Teams Day” and now, he gets another piece back ahead of time.
The Saints have re-signed veteran CB and special teams standout Johnson Bademosi, per source. He played in six games for New Orleans last season.

Johnson Bademosi joined the Saints in week eight of the NFL season after starting the year off in Miami. He is not the most popular name among NFL fans, but has been in the league since 2012 and continues to be a great special teams contributor.
While he appeared in his six games in the latter half of the Saints’ season he only wracked up one tackle for the stats sheet. But his play in coverage, protecting against big returns, and showing his value is not connected directly to tackles. Sometime you might not get the stop, but you avoid the cut back, or you deter a lane, etc. Bademosi was very much that smart and cerebral special teamer.
Now, he will get his chance in camp to reprise his role for 2020.
