The New Orleans Saints are closing in on a one-year deal for defensive lineman Margus Hunt per Mike Triplett of ESPN. The move would represent additional depth at the position, something that has been noted as a need for the team heading into the 2020 NFL season.

Hunt will compete with to earn a spot on the 53-man roster, and his pedigree proves he has a good shot at making it. Hunt has been in the league since 2013, and has been with both the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts. As Triplett pointed out, his best season came in 2018 when he started 15 games for the Colts and racked up 5 sacks and 22 solo tackles.
