Happy Monday, Who Dat Nation.
In a bit of a surprising announcement, Adam Schefter has reported the New Orleans Saints are releasing the recently-signed Nigel Bradham:
A surprise Monday morning release: the Saints cut veteran LB Nigel Bradham, per source.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) August 24, 2020
The veteran linebacker signed with the Saints back on July 30th on a one-year deal, to provide depth to the Saints linebacking corps.
Canal Street Chronicles on the original signing:
Bradham’s spent the last four years in Philadelphia, totaling 290 tackles in his four years with the Eagles. His 2019 was derailed by an ankle injury suffered in October against the Vikings, but he was able to return and play in the final six weeks of the season (including Philly’s playoff loss to the Seahawks). Bradham did make his mark on the season, however, getting a crucial game-ending interception off Aaron Rodgers in a Week 4 win at Lambeau Field. He ended 2019 with 44 tackles, 0 sacks and the lone aforementioned interception.
Stay tuned for additional coverage, as it’s possible there is a corresponding move forthcoming.
