Saints fans are confident for 2020...maybe too confident?

Expectations are high for the New Orleans fan base.

Expectations are high in New Orleans.

Despite all the irregularities of the offseason, the New Orleans Saints are heading into the 2020 season with Super Bowl aspirations and fans clearly have high hopes. According to the most recent SB Nation Reacts survey, Saints fans expect the team to win at least 11 games.

The win total was set by DraftKings. At 10.5 wins, the Saints are among the favorites across the NFL.

It’s not just Saints fans that think the team will succeed this season. Fans across the country were asked which of five teams with the highest win totals would exceed expectations. The Buccaneers received the most votes – while also receiving the most votes for which of those teams would fall below expectations – but the Saints earned the second most votes with just over 20 percent.

This is significant considering the Buccaneers are still riding the Tom Brady (and Rob Gronkowski) 2020 Hype Train, and the New Orleans Saints are having won the NFC South each of the last three seasons. I’m not sure expectations could be much higher for either team, so for both teams - in the same division - to be viewed so highly, it will make for an interesting season.

To put in full perspective, fans across the NFL are fairly confident in their favorite team. Only two teams in the league had a majority fan vote for the under – the Panthers under 5.5 games and the Chargers under 7.5.
