If you’re a daily fantasy player, before each game I will look at four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results).
Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster.
So here are three Saints and one Buccaneer that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from DraftKings)
RB Alvin Kamara (NO) - $7,800
If Michael Thomas has to miss time, Sean Payton can find ways to create an offensive gameplan to attack an opponent. Expect that, this week, to mean the Saints lean on Alvin Kamara and the Saints rushing attack. After Kamara struggled to find room to run last week against the Buccaneers, despite his two touchdowns, he comes over $2,000 cheaper than Christian McCaffrey this week.
WR Emmanuel Sanders (NO) - $5,800
Speaking of Thomas, there might not be a better value in all of daily fantasy this week than Emmanuel Sanders, who could be the Saints #1 receiver this week with Thomas likely sidelined. Sanders has proven to be a capable number one in his own right - like his in his time with the San Francisco 49ers last year - so he should still find success Monday Night.
TE Darren Waller (LV) - $5,400
Playing Darren Waller this week isn’t because I necessarily think he’s going to have a big game against CJ Gardner-Johnson and the New Orleans secondary, but that he’s just such a good value at $1,600 cheaper than Travis Kelce. Waller is one of the Raiders’ top red zone options, so even if his yardage totals aren’t note-worthy, he could at least snag a touchdown or two.
Saints D/ST - $3,400
The Raiders special teams struggled at times against the Carolina Panthers’ return game last week. That should only continue as the Raiders are now forced to face All-Pro returner Deonte Harris of the New Orleans Saints. Look for the Saints defense to play “fine,” but Harris could be in for a big game.
My full daily fantasy lineup this week:
QB: Josh Allen (BUF) - $6,700
RB: Alvin Kamara (NO) - $7,800
RB: Todd Gurley (ATL) - $6,100
WR: Emmanuel Sanders (NO) - $5,800
WR: Anthony Miller (CHI) - $5,200
WR: DeSean Jackson (PHI) - $5,100
TE: Darren Waller (LV) - $5,400
FLEX: Benny Snell (PIT - RB) - $4,500
DST: Saints (at Raiders) - $3,400
