Week 2 of the NFL season is officially underway with the second Thursday Night Football game of the season last night. This time, it was the Battle for Ohio, with number one overall pick Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals facing off against former number one overall pick Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns.
Burrow, the former quarterback of the LSU Tigers, obviously garnered a lot of attention out of the Who Dat Nation, with many Saints fans having overlapping fandom of the LSU Tigers in the SEC. With all eyes on Burrow, he didn’t disappoint, throwing for 316 yards and 3 touchdowns, outperforming Mayfield’s 219 passing yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Still, it wasn’t enough for Burrow’s Bengals, as the Bengals fell 35-30, dropping to 0-2, with Burrow still looking for his first NFL win.
Here are some of the best reactions from #SaintsTwitter:
"He threw the ball 61 times, went 5-5 on fourth downs, and answered the bell every single time it seemed like the Browns were going to put the @Bengals away. I was beyond impressed by @JoeyB last night. Great things to come." -- @PSchrags pic.twitter.com/RRZdUvbZ0p

The Bengals should have traded AJ Green for some offensive line help.

Me, as Baker avoided the sack: "Atta boy Baker."

Me, as Baker threw that pick: "ATTA BOY BAKER."
Look at @JoeyB doing his thing. This is not over.

Bengals draft plan for 2021 should be very simple. Draft offensive linemen early and often to make sure you keep Joe Burrow protected.

Joe is special, don’t waste his talent.
Joe Burrow deserves better. #freejoe

Burrow might (& maybe *should*) have 600 attempts this season.

Kid doesn’t look like a rook
That was an entertaining start to Thursday Night Football. And if these Baker vs. Burrow showdowns end up being fun shootouts like this, I’ll take it.
