While the New Orleans Saints were unable to secure the #1 seed in the NFC last week - thanks for nothing, Chicago - but the Saints were still able to end the season on a high note as the NFC’s #2 seed in the 2021 postseason.
With a 33-7 beatdown of the division rival Carolina Panthers, the Saints became the first team in division history to sweep all six division contests in a single season. This is after becoming the first team to win four consecutive division titles in the NFC South with the team’s Christmas Day win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Still, it was nice to beat a division rival, even if the Panthers didn’t have anything to play for except for pride. Here are the best social media reactions after the game:
#Saints win! They end the season 12-4, with the number two seed in the NFC.

If this was indeed Drew Brees's final regular season game, it was classic Drew. pic.twitter.com/eb0Rbuw7RD

Ty Montgomery had his first 100-yard rushing game since 2016.
2 Rushers at almost 6 YPC.
They had lost THEIR ENTIRE RB ROOM + RB COACH. This is special and it doesn't matter who they played. This is ridiculous and they deserve credit. pic.twitter.com/kQTEv8RplZ

All I'm saying is that Curtis Samuel put together a very nice audition for the New Orleans Saints today.

The Saints were one of four NFL teams to not allow a single 300-yard passer this season. This was the first time since 2005 the Saints went an entire season without allowing one.
