For the second-consecutive season, the New Orleans Saints go into the bye week with a 3-2 record. Having suffered a near-catastrophic amount of injuries so early in the season, the team and the fans are thankful the bye is upon us, as it will be good to get some rest for the players that are due to return next week and for those that have filled in during their absence. With the Saints off the schedule this week, we will focus on the the rest of the Week 6 action. There are plenty of storylines to follow this week, and plenty of teams to root against. Let’s take a look at this and all of the upcoming Week 6 action.
Last week I went 13-3
I told you so: Steelers over Broncos!
What do I know: Chiefs over Bills?
Thursday, October 14th - Thursday Night Football
Buccaneers(4-1) at Eagles(2-3)
Behind a rabid home crowd, Philly will play their hearts out and keep things close against Tampa, primarily by shutting down the Bucs run game, making Brady’s offense one-dimensional. Unfortunately for the Eagles, Brady is great at the remaining dimension. Tampa wins 28-23.
Sunday, October 17th - Early Games
Dolphins(1-4) at Jaguars(0-5)
Miami has been dreadful at just about everything this season, but thankfully for them, the Jags are even more dreadful. Miami wins 20-16.
Chiefs(2-3) at Washington FT(2-3)
Kansas City was embarrassed at home last Sunday night, but thankfully for them, Washington is no Buffalo. KC gets back to .500 this week, despite their terrible defense. Kansas City wins 35-17.
Rams(4-1) at Giants(1-4)
For those of you that love to watch gory, horrific horror flicks this time of year, this game will be right up your alley. Matthew Stafford will simply terrorize the Giants. Los Angeles wins 42-7.
Texans(1-4) at Colts(1-4)
Indy has been hit with some really tough luck this season, but lucky for them, the Texans are coming to town. Indianapolis wins 28-20.
Bengals(3-2) at Lions(0-5)
Late game magic has been on Cincy’s side, while late game tragedies have plagued Detroit. Guess what happens here. Cincinnati wins 26-23.
Packers(4-1) at Bears(3-2)
Green Bay will do what they usually do, beat Chicago. Green Bay wins 38-21.
Chargers(4-1) at Ravens(4-1) - Game of the Week
Many will expect a shootout in this marquee matchup, but it will surprisingly be the defenses that are the star of the show in this one. Los Angeles hangs on to a tight victory by controlling the clock late with their ground game. Los Angeles wins 20-17.
Vikings(2-3) at Panthers(3-2)
The Carolina defense will stifle Minnesota at home in this one. Carolina wins 26-20.
Sunday, October 17th - Late Games
Cardinals(5-0) at Browns(3-2)
Arizona’s defense shutting down the Cleveland passing attack will be the key to this huge road victory. Arizona wins 35-21.
Raiders(3-2) at Broncos(3-2)
Following a tough loss a week ago, Denver will rebound against the disorganized Raiders. Denver wins 35-21.
Cowboys(4-1) at Patriots(2-3)
The matchup of Dallas’ offense against New England’s defense will be the story of this tight contest. Dallas pulls out a big win on the road here. Dallas wins 17-16.
Sunday Night Football
Seahawks(2-3) at Steelers(2-3)
Pittsburgh’s offense will punish the porous Seattle defense. On the other side, without Russell Wilson, the Seahawks will struggle in this one. Pittsburgh wins 27-13.
Monday, October 18th - Monday Night Football
Bills(4-1) at Titans(3-2)
The Buffalo defense will shut down Derrick Henry, which in turn will shut down Tennessee. Buffalo wins 29-17.
That’s how I see Week 6 coming together. Let us know what you think will happen. Leave your comments, picks, and insight below!
