Woohoo! The New Orleans Saints defeated the Seattle Seahawks 13-10.
I’ll get to that later in the week. But right now, it’s officially the start of the first edition of Saints-Bucs Week 2021.
You know, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers...the defending Super Bowl Champions. The team that defeated us in the playoffs in Drew Brees’ last game. The team that Tom Brady currently calls his.
Ok, it’s understandable if you don’t recall all that. After all, we Saints fans don’t really care about the Bucs, do we? Even while they are at the peak of their franchise, they still do not register in our memory bank. Even though they try so hard to.
And whoo boy, do they try. Bucs fans want to be our rival so, so badly. But it’s just not happening. For as much fun as we make fun of the delusion and stupidity of Atlanta Falcons fans, they can at least hang their hat on the fact that they are our rival. It is a rivalry we actually acknowledge and bring forth emotion to. But the Bucs? Eh. Can’t they go, idk, try and force a rivalry with the Carolina Panthers or something. Those guys need a hated rival too.
Well either way, the good news for Bucs fans is since we play them this Sunday, we have to acknowledge their existence. So enjoy the week Bucs fans. We’ll finally give y’all some of that attention y’all ordered.
Then again, maybe not.
