New Orleans Saints standout running back Tony Jones Jr. will be sidelined 3-4 weeks after he suffered an ankle injury vs the New York Giants. Adding another injury to this now-thin Saints roster. They brought in a community of running backs today for a tryout. They worked out Lamar Miller, Duke Johnson, Brian Hill, Ito Smith and Ryquell Armstead. No signing has been made yet.

It helps explain why the Saints worked out RBs Lamar Miller, Duke Johnson, Brian Hill, Ito Smith and Ryquell Armstead today.
The Saints currently have Alvin Kamara and Dwayne Washington as their primary RB’s now. They could also lean on Ty Montgomery to get some carries as well. With Jones out, we will see a larger dose of Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill in the run game. Adding another RB might be a necessity for the team, just in case, another one goes down. But with Jones missing 3+ weeks maybe the Saints look for a longer-term option and even took a look in the trade market. A trade with the Houston Texans for Mark Ingram could be an option and make a lot of sense for both sides.
