The New Orleans Saints (5-2) are set to host the division rival Atlanta Falcons (3-4) this Sunday, with each team heading in a different direction as the season progresses.
The Saints are fresh off an upset of Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with the win unfortunately proving costly as quarterback Jameis Winston is feared to be out for the season. The Falcons, on the other hand, are coming to New Orleans after dropping a 19-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers in a game that saw Matt Ryan fail to crack 150 passing yards on his way to throwing two interceptions.
New Orleans will have a question mark at quarterback for the foreseeable future, whether it is Trevor Siemian (who stepped up in a big way last night against Tampa), Taysom Hill (who could be returning after a concussion), Ian Book (a rookie who was a healthy inactive last week), or a new acquisition.
Despite these questions at quarterback, the Saints open as 5-point favorites against the Falcons according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
The Saints could possibly see the return of wide receiver Michael Thomas this week, although a definite return timetable is still unknown. Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley is expected to miss this game, as Ridley is still dealing with mental health issues.
