Saints will show interest in Odell Beckham, Jr if cut, per report

The dream of an LSU legend coming home is still alive.

It was announced Wednesday morning that New Orleans Saints All-Pro WR Michael Thomas is going to miss the rest of the season due to a setback. The hole at wide receiver is now huge, they can't just “get by” anymore. Before the trade deadline, the Saints had discussions with the Cleveland Browns for their star receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. Nothing happened before the deadline for both teams, but now, the tension between Beckham and the Browns has grown. Today, Odell was excused from practice after he showed up at the team facility but was told to go home. Coach Kevin Stefanski told the players “[Odell] is essentially not on the team right now”.

It is now a real possibility that the Browns move on from OBJ after this, with Cleveland reportedly discussing the future with his agent. Browns beat writer for Cleveland.com said, “OBJ has likely played his last game for the Browns, sources say”. Because the trade deadline has passed, Beckham would be subject to waiver with any team in draft order could put in a claim for him. On the other hand, if Beckham clears waivers, he would be free to sign where ever he wants.

It is being reported that, if released, the New Orleans Saints and Las Vegas Raiders would express interest in Odell Beckham, per Jordan Schultz.

The Beckham vs Browns saga will continue with a solution coming soon. The whole state of Louisiana would welcome Odell Beckham Jr back home if given the opportunity.
