Last week’s recommendations and their DraftKings points:

  • Jameis Winston: 10.24
  • Alex Collins: 4.40
  • Chris Godwin: 31.00
  • Hunter Henry: 4.30
  • Bills DST: 10.00

Last week’s lineup could have been special. Jameis Winston suffering a year-ending injury set this lineup back. If Winston was able to finish the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, this lineup could have been special. Collins and Henry did not help though. Godwin and the Bills DST worked out and we will look to continue with good selections this week. With several injuries looming and a couple of teams on bye, this is a difficult week to price but that is what this series is for. These are the DraftKings DFS tournament plays for Week 9 of the NFL regular season.

Daniel Jones at $5,600 is one of the best pay-down options at quarterback this week due to his matchup. The Giants are playing at home and welcoming the much-maligned Las Vegas Raiders into town. The Raiders have had internal turmoil, to put it mildly, lately and now have to go across the country to an early game after a time change. Jordan Love will be the chalk this week since he will take over for Aaron Rodgers and only costs $4,400, but if you wanted to be different, Jones could be that guy.

Usually, it is necessary to pair quarterbacks and wide receivers in these lineups. This is difficult with the New York Giants and their deep receiver unit. It is hard to predict who will be the leading receiver on this team, but there is one guy who is almost guaranteed to catch multiple passes. Devontae Booker has been a reliable fill-in for the injured Saquon Barkley. This week, he is priced at just $5,900 and gets one of the better matchups for lower-priced running backs. The Raiders allow the 9th most points in fantasy to running backs on the year. Booker at home could be in line for a huge day.

Another player with a good matchup this week is Jerry Jeudy and the Denver Broncos against the Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott will return to start for the Cowboys this week which will likely lead to a points explosion for that team. The Broncos are going to have to try and keep up with this offensive juggernaut. Jeudy should be in store for a big day of volume. Courtland Sutton is likely to be shadowed by Trevon Diggs this week. Noah Fant was recently placed on the C19 list so that just leaves Jeudy and Tim Patrick as comfortable targets for Teddy Bridgewater. Select whichever of these players fits in your lineup, but Jeudy in the slot should have volume upside this week.

If the Cowboys are going to score on the Broncos, then you likely need to have one or more of their pass catchers in your lineup. This week, Dalton Schultz at tight end should be on shortlists. Schultz will go into this game as the only reliable tight end on the Cowboys roster after Blake Jarwin was put on the IR list this week. Michael Gallup is still not ready to return for Dallas either, so Schultz should be a consistent threat every time Dak Prescott rolls back. At just $4,800, Schultz could easily finish as the TE1 this week on DraftKings.

Sample Lineup for Week 8:

  • Daniel Jones, $5,600
  • Devonte Booker, $5,900
  • Jerry Jeudy, $5,000
  • Dalton Schultz, $4,800
  • Saints DST, $3,700

The defensive teams are incredibly thin this week. Paying down for the Miami Dolphins could be an option if you are cash-strapped, but this lineup is going with the New Orleans Saints DST. The Saints play the Falcons this week, who they have owned in recent years. With the Saints defense and these selections, DraftKings players will have $25,000 to spend on the final four picks for a lineup. This is plenty to spend up on some higher-priced guys this week. Austin Ekeler against the Eagles, Alvin Kamara against the Falcons, Nick Chubb against the Bengals, Stefon Diggs against the Jaguars are just a few of the names that stand out for priced up selections. Good luck in your Week 9 DraftKings DFS tournaments.
