Another mock draft, another position of need drafted in the first round by the New Orleans Saints.
We’ve seen safety, quarterback, defensive tackle, offensive tackle, and linebacker. This time, a sixth different position heads to the Saints in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft in Sports Illustrated’s most recent three-round mock:
CB Tyson Campbell, Georgia
Despite losing Drew Brees to retirement, New Orleans is still one of the deeper teams in the NFL. While they might search for their next quarterback via the draft, it’ll be key to continue building this defense and adding pieces like Campbell to pair with Marshon Lattimore.
This pick seems to assume that Janoris Jenkins is playing somewhere else in 2021. This isn’t necessarily out of the question, but it’s far from a guarantee either.
Elsewhere in the draft, Sports Illustrated has the Saints picking ILB Dylan Moses out of the University of Alabama in the second round, 60th overall, and I’d be super happy with this pick.

Because the Saints traded up to draft Zack Baun last year, the Saints are without a third round pick this year, and the Sports Illustrated mock stops short of compensatory picks, where the Saints are expected to get two (one for Teddy Bridgewater going to the Carolina Panthers last offseason, and one for Terry Fontenot becoming the new general manager of the Atlanta Falcons this year).
