The New Orleans Saints have used their final pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on Wide Receiver Kawaan Baker from South Alabama University. The 6’1” WR caught 8 touchdowns for South Alabama in 2020, and is a very solid all-around receiver.
South Alabama WR Kawaan Baker totaled 27 touchdowns in his last three seasons of collegiate play. Not surprised the #Saints like what he brings to the table enough to draft him, even late.

Baker’s 27 touchdowns in 2018 - 2020 came split between 16 receiving touchdowns and 11 rushing touchdowns. Nine on the ground in 2018 alone.
Baker will likely compete with Marquez Callaway for touches in the Saints offense, and could be a valuable special teamer for a year or two before being integrated into the offense. As the first receiver drafted by the Saints since Tre’Quan Smith in 2018, Baker will compete for the #3 option in the Saints offense as they try and replace Emmanuel Sanders in 2021.
