The New Orleans Saints have inked deals with three players who tried out with the team during rookie minicamp. They have reported added LB Quentin Poling, DT Lorenzo Neal, and OT Kyle Murphy.
The New Orleans Saints are signing former Miami Dolphins' 7th-round pick linebacker Quentin Poling. He earned his spot during rookie minicamp and made a good impression on the team. Poling was a 7th-round pick in 2018 for Miami and has appeared in one career game with the Oakland Raiders where he tallied five special teams snaps. He has the flexibility to play MIKE and WILL linebacker. Poling attended Ohio University where he left as the all-time leader in tackles (219) and tackles for a loss with 45.
The Saints are signing LB Quentin Poling, per source. He earned a spot at rookie camp via a tryout, and he obviously made a good impression this weekend. He can play either Mike or Will LB.— Katherine Terrell (@Kat_Terrell) May 16, 2021
Also adding the son of hall of fame FB Lorenzo Neal, the Saints have signed Lorenzo Neal Jr, former Purdue defensive tackle. The 6’3 DT was a 2019 team co-captain but did not play the season. He finished his college career with 72 total tackles with 4 sacks
They also added offensive tackle, Kyle Murphy, a former 6th-round pick for the Green Bay Packers who spent two years with the team. He also spent time with the Los Angeles Rams and Houston Texans this past season. He has started three career games and has appeared in six.
