The WestGate Superbook has announced early betting lines for each game of the 2021 NFL season. I went through each week to find the betting line for each game for the New Orleans Saints to get a rough idea of how sports books imagine the Saints will perform in 2021.
Week 1 - vs the Green Bay Packers
The Saints open as -3 favorites against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, meaning it’s essentially a “pick-em” game as the Saints would receive a 3-point advantage as the home team.
Week 2 - at the Carolina Panthers
-2.5 favorites
Week 3 - at the New England Patriots
-1 favorites
Week 4 - vs the New York Giants
-5.5 favorites
Week 5 - at the Washington Football Team
-1.5 favorites
Week 7 - at the Seattle Seahawks
The Saints are underdogs for the first time in the 2021 season in Week 7, coming out of the bye to face the Seahawks in Seattle, where they are +3 underdogs. Again, considering the nature of home field, it’s essentially a pick-em.
Week 8 - vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
And then in Week 8, the Saints are true underdogs, hosting the defending Super Bowl Champion Buccaneers at home where they open as +2.5 underdogs.
Week 9 - vs the Atlanta Falcons
-6 favorites
Week 10 - at the Tennessee Titans
+2.5 underdogs
Week 11 - at the Philadelphia Eagles
-3.5 favorites
Week 12 - vs the Buffalo Bills
The Saints have just their second home game where they aren’t favored to win, this time their Thanksgiving matchup against the Buffalo Bills, where the Saints open as a +1.5 underdog.
Week 13 - vs the Dallas Cowboys
-3.5 favorites
Week 14 - at the New York Jets
-3 favorites
Week 15 - vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Facing Tom Brady in Tampa, the Saints have their largest underdog spread of the 2021 season, opening as +7 underdogs in Week 15.
Week 16 - vs the Miami Dolphins
-3.5 favorites
Week 17 - vs the Carolina Panthers
Two weeks after their largest underdog spread, the Saints have their largest favorite spread of 2021, opening as -6.5 favorites to Carolina Panthers.
Week 18 - at the Atlanta Falcons
Such is the nature of division games. Despite being favored by 6 points at home in their first matchup, the Saints open as +1 underdogs in the final game of the season, a divisional tilt against the rival Falcons in Atlanta.
When all is said and done, the Saints are favorited to win 11 games and finish 11-6 in the 2021 season, which would be good enough for a wildcard berth.
