The New Orleans Saints are reported set to sign former Bills, Patriot, Panther, and Jets wide receiver Chris Hogan to their roster ahead of training camp. Hogan, a former pro lacrosse player, tried out with the team this week and impressed enough to get a roster spot. The news comes shortly after we learned star wide receiver Michael Thomas will at least miss the first month of the NFL season.
The #Saints are signing veteran WR Chris Hogan, source says. Obviously impressed in his workout today. So his NFL career resumes and lacrosse gets put on hold.

The 33-year old receiver will compete to make the thin Saints roster and help make up for the loss of Michael Thomas. Hogan most recently was with the New York Jets in 2020 and had a total of 118 yards in 5 games with the team. His best season came in 2016 with the New England Patriots, with 680 yards.
Hogan was in the middle of his first season in the Premier Lacrosse League before his workout with the Saints. He is now going to walk away from that dream, although there is no guarantee he makes the final 53-man roster. This all could not be the only WR move the Saints may make, as they also worked out WR Damion Willis who won't get a deal, and WR Trevor Davis, whose contract status is unknown. There could be more tryouts on the way as well.
Stay tuned for more updates.
