Saints sign rookie Cornerback Bryan Mills, per sources

Mills worked out for the team yesterday.

Reese’s Senior Bowl

The New Orleans Saints have signed free agent cornerback Bryan Mills, per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football. Mills was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks but was waived last week. He was among the tryouts for the Saints yesterday.

Mills played for North Carolina Central in 2019, where he had 5 interceptions and 8 PBU’s. He sat out the 2020 season, but his 2019 performance was strong enough to garner an invitation to the 2021 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

This move likely comes in response to CB KeiVarae Russell being placed on the Covid list earlier in the week. It is unclear at this time if Mills represents anything more than just depth during training camp, but a corresponding roster move is likely required after the Saints added WR Kevin White yesterday.
