The New Orleans Saints signed veteran safety Jeff Heath to add depth to their safety room. Heath a former Cowboy and Raider, spent 2020 with the Raiders. He actually led the Raiders last season in interceptions with three. He also had 37 total tackles on the year. Three interceptions tied a career-high for Heath, he also hit that mark in 2017 with the Cowboys.

The addition of heath will help bolster the bottom half of the safety depth chart. After losing DJ Swearinger this offseason the Saints haven't yet filled that hole till now. It also adds flexibility for PJ Williams to play cornerback if needed. Marcus Williams and PJ Williams were nursing injuries last week, both have returned since then. Heath will come in and compete for a depth spot on this roster.
The Saints have taken a different approach this season, bringing in a ton of veteran guys from all around the league.
