New Orleans should consider trading for kicker Austin Seibert

This summer has been filled with kicker problems for the New Orleans Saints but this could be temporarily solved by making a trade for current Cincinnati Bengals placekicker Austin Seibert.

The Saints have been relatively fine with no problems from the kicker section before Wil Lutz succumbed to an injury that has threatened to keep the player out for the first quarter of the regular season, and it could also be stretched by unfortunate events in the future as stated by top rated online casino.

To solve this issue, the New Orleans franchise opted to sign Brett Maher to fill in the void created by Lutz's injury, but Maher ended up being injured himself after playing a single preseason game.

They tried their luck with Aldrick Rosas, their third kicker of the offseason. But Rosas ended up missing an extra point in New Orleans' victory against Jacksonville and considering this was his main strength, as he went 9-for-9 on extra points with the Jaguars back in 2020, this is can't be seen as a good going forward.

Seibert, on the other hand, spent the half of 2020 on the Cincinnati franchise roster and was able to win all eight extra points he attempted but missed two of his eight attempted field goals. The player was pitched against rookie Evan McPherson this summer and the rookie was impressive in Cincinnati and will be winning a role at the team there.

This left Seibert right outside and while it's certain that he won't be making the Bengals' first team, the franchise allowed the player remains at the team to make kicks in their Sunday's game.

This could be a signal from the Bengals of putting the player on display for the teams that are interested in him, and the Saints are considered one of those teams via online pokies Australia.

As the New Orleans Saints' third and last preseason game ended up being cancelled due to Hurricane Ida, we were unable to peek at what potential Rosas could unleash which made the kicker decision more difficult.

The Saints might not be needing this kicker for the whole of the regular season as Lutz will probably be returning to the team somewhere in between. Seibert, on the other hand, is an option that is more viable for the New Orleans Saints going forward.

Games could be won or lost just by kicking woes and with the Saints having some troubles with the injured list, they will need all the help they could muster for this season. Trading for Austin Seibert could, potentially, place them in a better position going forward.

In other news, the Saints will be out of New Orleans for a month due to the troubles brought by Hurricane Ida. During that time, they have home games against the Green Bay Packers in Week 1 and the New York Giants in Week 4.
