CSC’s fantasy studs and duds from Week 2

Ugly game leads to low fantasy production

Well that didn’t go well. The Saints lost an ugly game to the division rival Carolina Panthers in what was a bad game from the entire team. The offense never got anything going and the defense failed to hold Sam Darnold and the Panthers offense in check. The bright side is the Saints were missing multiple key starters on offense and defense, so this game will likely be an exception rather than the rule. Hopefully you did not have many Saints in your lineup on Sunday, as not a single player scored in double figures.

dud: everyone on the Saints

Jameis Winston led the Saints with 8 fantasy points this week. Alvin Kamara managed only 5 points and the leading receiver was Lil’Jordan Humphrey with 2.5 points. Winston was under pressure all day, and the run game could never get going as the Saints fell behind early. Marquez Callaway continued his rough start to the year after having a tremendous preseason, catching just 2 passes for 8 yards. The Saints will need to do better on offense if they are going to fight for a playoff spot, and hopefully once they get to a fully healthy roster they will be able to.

STUD: Christian McCaffrey

McCaffrey continues to prove that he is one of the most valuable fantasy players in the NFL. Scoring 22 points on 130+ all-purpose yards, McCaffrey looks like he is back from his injury depleted season in 2020. Look for him to only get better as the rest of the offense around him continues to improve.
