Per Field Yates of ESPN, the New Orleans Saints have opened up a small amount of cap space by restructuring WR Tre'Quan Smith's deal. The fourth year receiver is currently on injured reserve for another week. Following the salary conversion, New Orleans opens up enough cap space to potentially elevate WR Kenny Stills to the active roster. Stills joined the Saints' practice squad last week but injuries necessitated elevations elsewhere on the roster. After only 11 combined catches by wide receivers in the Saints' opening two games, it would make sense to try an additional piece at the position.
