Sean Payton appears to have his depth chart set for Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. The biggest question heading into the preseason was who would be under center for the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, but Jameis Winston put the kibosh on that fairly quickly with a monstrous second-game performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Taysom Hill is “backing up” Winston, but Payton has already made it abundantly clear that he will still be moving around the formation as he often does to sow confusion in the defense.

There aren’t really any surprises here. Kwon Alexander has changed his number to No. 5, while Tony Jones Jr. is now No. 21. Dwayne Washington will be the third running back after the cut of Latavius Murray on Tuesday.
The Saints also made waves by acquiring cornerback Bradley Roby from the Texans on Wednesday, but that won’t affect this week’s starting lineup as Roby is suspended for Week 1.
Those looking may also notice that the Saints aren’t carrying a kicker on the roster as of now. Aldrick Rosas is still waiting on the practice squad, and will presumably be the last call-up for New Orleans to fill out the roster.
As for injuries, Tre’Quan Smith, Adam Trautman, Ken Crawley, and Desmond Trufant are all questionable for Sunday. This means rookie Paulson Adebo could end up seeing significant reps opposite Marshon Lattimore.
