Week 8 is here for the New Orleans Saints, and they are now sitting at 3-4 after a heartbreaking loss at home on TNF against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fortunately, the Saints get 10 days off after this game to rest up and as Head Coach Dennis Allen said, “reset.”
While we are almost halfway through the season, the good news is that NFC South is still wide open for the taking with the Atlanta Falcons (4-3), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-3) and Saints only just a game apart. So, after this “mini bye” hopefully the Saints will find their rhythm and get back in the win column against the Indianapolis Colts and backup quarterback Gardner Minchew. Colts starting quarterback Anthony Richardson suffered an AC sprain in his right shoulder in Week 6, which resulted in season ending surgery. This is eerily similar to the injury that Saints QB Derek Carr suffered in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers but fortunately not as severe.
But as always, we want to hear from you. What are your thoughts? Do you think some extra time off helped the Saints and they can they right the ship and turn this season around?
