An NFC North matchup concludes Week 12 of the NFL regular season. Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears travel to face Joshua Dobbs and the Minnesota Vikings. What was once thought to be a lost season for the Vikings is not reinvigorated with the play of Dobbs. Justin Fields is back under center for the Bears and likely playing for his job considering the Bears draft picks next year.

Each week, Canal Street Chronicles will preview some of the best props and wagers for every Monday primetime game. Thank you to our friends over at DraftKings Sportsbook for the wagering lines for the CSC Monday Night Football Week 12 preview and props.

CSC MNF Week 12 props and best bets

Bears game line +3.5

Divisional rivalries usually stay close, no matter the record. Of course, with Justin Fields back the Bears are a better team. Their defense is not porous either, especially against the rush. Both teams are actually top-10 against the rush. This should slow down the game and keep it close. Neither team’s offense is that explosive. The Vikings are one of the best teams in the league at covering the spread, so make sure to tease this line up just a little to cover at least one full score. It is not likely that either team blows one another out, so take the points and the Bears.

Alexander Mattison under 45.5 rushing yards(-105)

As previously mentioned, the Bears are one of the best defenses in the NFL to opposing rushers. The stats are a little skewed if considering total running back yards since they are also one of the worst teams against running back receptions. Strictly against the rush though, the Bears give up just 3.4 yards per carry, the best in the league. This will be a tough matchup for Mattison, who is already having a shaky season on the ground. Mattison has underperformed and the Bears defense is very good against the rush, take the under on the rushing yards. If you want an over, the receiving yards are viable as well.

Justin Fields over 52.5 rushing yards(-135)

Although the Vikings are also good against the rush, they still give up plenty of yards to scrambling quarterbacks. To consider Fields simply a scrambling quarterback is a disservice as well. Fields is a multi-tool player who will take whatever yards are open on every play. This is a huge prop number for Fields, but it just shows the kind of player he is while also the fact that the matchup is very good. Fields has gone over 52 yards in three games while being very close to this total in two more so far this season.

Long shot of the night

T.J. Hockenson to score 2+ touchdowns(+1000)

The Bears’ secondary is one of weaknesses on this team, especially against the tight end. They give up six receptions per game and over 46 yards on average. Along with this, the Bears give up the seventh-most yards to the pass in the NFL. This all shapes up to a big game for superstar tight end T.J. Hockenson. Josh Dobbs is already comfortable with Hockenson, targeting him 22 times in their first two games together. Expect this to continue against the Bears. An anytime touchdown is just a little over even odds and also worth a wager, but this long shot has a shot as well.
