Saints to sign RB James Robinson, per report

New Orleans plans to sign the veteran RB pending a physical.

The New Orleans Saints plan to sign veteran running back James Robinson pending a physical, per Nick Underhill

The Saints tried out three other running backs on Tuesday including Jerrion Ealy, John Lovett, and Ty Montgomery.

Robinson, 25, has had stints with the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, New York Jets, and Jacksonville Jaguars. In Robinson’s rookie year with the Jaguars, he ran for 1070 yards and 7 touchdowns averaging 4.5 yards a carry. Robinson has appeared in one game this season with the Packers rushing the ball one time for 2 yards.

Saints rookie running back Kendre Miller has missed the Saints’ last four games with an ankle injury and may be at risk of missing more time.
