The New Orleans Saints face the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday Night Football. Neither team wants the lump of coal that would be a loss this Christmas week. We will see who has been naughty and who has been nice. This season has been quite disappointing, but hope for the NFC South title remains, and a win this week will go a long way to making it a reality.

The Rams find themselves in a fight to secure a Wild Card spot this season, as they are playing their best here in the second half of the season after a rough start. Now they look to write their own script that ends with a playoff berth. The Saints need to play their best game of the season, in an effort to match their result from a week ago, as New Orleans is looking to write its own Hollywood ending. The best Christmas tales of triumph tell us stories of overcoming obstacles and bringing joy in the end. Let’s hope its the Saints that bring joy to their fans this holiday. Lets take a look at this matchup as well as the rest of the Week 16 NFL schedule this Christmas!

Last week I went 11-5

I told you so: Bucs over Packers.

What do I know: Giants over Saints?!

Thursday, December 21st - Thursday Night Football

Saints(7-7) at Rams(7-7)

This may certainly be the most difficult Saints game to pick since Dennis Allen was hired as head coach in New Orleans. After faltering through the first half of the season, the Rams are surging since the bye over a month ago. The Rams are the favorites for a reason, playing at home on a short week, a better quarterback, a much better coach, while the Saints have stacked their seven wins against inferior teams with inferior talent, this is a spot where the Saints would surely fail. Picking the Saints to win is like asking for a Christmas miracle. Well, it’s time to believe in miracles and the magic of the holiday. Somehow, someway, the Saints load up their sleigh back to New Orleans with the greatest gift we could receive... an improbable win. Saints win 21-20.

Pick: Saints

Saturday, December 23rd - Saturday NFL Special

Bengals(8-6) at Steelers(7-7)

Jake Browning does it again, leading Cincy to another win, this time in an important AFC North matchup that could put the loser’s Wild Card hopes in jeopardy. Cincinnati wins 23-16.

Pick: Bengals

Saturday, December 23rd - Saturday Night NFL Special

Bills(8-6) at Chargers(5-9)

Buffalo finds themselves surging, going into the final stretch of the season, while the Chargers find themselves completely checked out for the season. Buffalo wins 47-14.

Pick: Bills

Sunday, December 24th - Early Games

Colts(8-6) at Falcons(6-8)

Fresh off a loss to the worst team in the NFL, Atlanta now has to face an Indy team fighting to solidify a Wild Card spot in a very tight AFC playoff field. Indianapolis wins 27-21.

Pick: Colts

Packers(6-8) at Panthers(2-12)

Asking Carolina to win consecutive games this season seems like a monumental task, as Green Bay stops their late season slide in Charlotte. Green Bay wins 24-16.

Pick: Packers

Browns(9-5) at Texans(8-6)

Cleveland’s defense against CJ Stroud is the matchup everyone will be anticipating, but it will be Cleveland’s rushing attack against the Houston defense that wins the game in the end. Cleveland wins 23-14.

Pick: Browns

Lions(10-4) at Vikings(7-7)

Detroit keeps pace with the top tier of the NFC with a win over their NFC North rivals in Minnesota. Detroit wins 29-26.

Pick: Lions

Commanders(4-10) at Jets(5-9)

This matchup of the Jets offense and the Commanders defense is the resistible force meeting the movable object. In the end, the Washington passing game makes enough plays to win. Washington wins 20-17.

Pick: Commanders

Seahawks(7-7) at Titans(5-9)

Surprisingly enough, Drew Lock has another big game, keeping Seattle’s Wild Card hopes alive and well. Seattle wins 30-27.

Pick: Seahawks

Sunday, December 24th - Late Games

Jaguars(8-6) at Buccaneers(7-7)

Baker Mayfield is surging right now, coming off a dominant performance in Green Bay, now he and his Bucs will get the best of an injured Trevor Lawrence and the free-falling Jaguars. Tampa Bay wins 28-21.

Pick: Buccaneers

Cardinals(3-11) at Bears(5-9)

Chicago’s defense will be the best unit on the field in this one, which will actually keep Arizona close to Chicago’s first-overall draft pick (via Carolina). Chicago wins 24-19.

Pick: Bears

Cowboys(10-4) at Dolphins(10-4)

This showdown between potential Super Bowl contenders will certainly be one of the best games on the schedule this week. Ultimately, Miami’s underrated defense will shut down the Dallas run game, forcing the Cowboys to be one-dimensional down the final stretch, helping Miami secure a close victory at home. Miami wins 26-24.

Pick: Dolphins

Sunday, December 24th - Sunday Night NFL Special

Patriots(3-11) at Broncos(7-7)

Denver’s ground game will punish the New England defense, dominating time of possession, and the game itself. Denver wins 21-9.

Pick: Broncos

Monday, December 25th - Christmas Day NFL Special - Game 1

Raiders(6-8) at Chiefs(9-5)

Fresh off an outrageously dominant victory a week ago, Las Vegas will see the pendulum swing away from them in Kansas City. Kansas City wins 30-20.

Pick: Chiefs

Monday, December 25th - Christmas Day NFL Special - Game 2

Giants(5-9) at Eagles(10-4)

Tommy DeVito and the Giants saw their Broadway feel-good story come to an abrupt end last week, and this week things get worse against a Philly team that is reeling from a brutal stretch themselves. Philadelphia wins 35-14.

Pick: Eagles

Monday, December 25th - Monday Night Football

Ravens(11-3) at 49ers(11-3) - Game of the Week

This game will certainly live up to its billing as a potential Super Bowl preview, as both quarterbacks are clear favorite for NFL MVP and will show why they two of the best in this game. Ultimately, San Francisco’s pass defense will come up with a massive play to seal the victory in this one-score showdown. We will all be happy to have this one last Christmas present on Christmas Day. San Francisco wins 24-17.

Pick: 49ers
