Social Media reacts: 49ers lose to Ravens

Brock Purdy couldn’t compete with Baltimore’s defense.

It has been a season for Brock Purdy, who has made 23 NFL starts since joining the San Francisco 49ers last season. Facing the Ravens will probably go down as one of his toughest games to date, especially after tearing his ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.

He had never faced problems on the field like those he faced against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. A 33-19 loss that dropped the 49ers to 11-4 on the season, Purdy threw a career-high four interceptions, including three in the first half. Of course, the internet was petty as usual with Purdy in its internet fashion. The Twittersphere was on one after the 49er loss.

Following the victory over the San Francisco 49ers, the Baltimore Ravens are arguably the best team in the NFL at the moment, and we now have a new leader in the MVP race in quarterback Lamar Jackson. Even though most had Brock Purdy as a favorite to win MVP before last night’s game as stated in a tweet by Dez Bryant, Lamar showed why he changed the narrative for MVP favorite at the moment. Jackson had 23-of-35 completed passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns with 45 rushing yards. The Ravens defense did not show the 49ers any mercy.

What are your thoughts about Monday’s game? Are the Ravens a legitimate Super Bowl contender? Despite Purdy’s season, should the 49ers have found a way to protect Brock Purdy better and establish a more balanced offensive attack? Leave your comments below.
