There is no doubt that the New Orleans Saints have had a rough season to date. Coaching, play calling, quarterback woes all have played in the team’s setback this season. If you drafted the majority of these players, you expected high hopes, consistent and big plays that led to premium fantasy points. But that hasn’t been the case. Carr has struggle majority of the season. The Saints have suffered a rotation of injured WR’s and TE’s throughout the season. So, this is another week of “Sit” status versus “Start”. Like most fans and fantasy managers, the end of the season probably can’t come fast enough so the reset button can be pressed. So, let’s get into it and see who to sit for Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers.
Note: This list can definitely change or be different per your roster and changes in status of players before Sunday. Keep a close eye any changes made by the Saints to make roster changes in your fantasy league(s).
Derek Carr- Sit
While Carr (ribs/right shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Panthers, he is on track to start after he cleared the five-step concussion protocol. His performance has not been the best. It is probably wise to start a better option again this week if he is on your roster.
Taysom Hill- Sit
In addition to not practicing this week, Hill (foot/hand) is listed as questionable for the Panthers game on Sunday. Having gotten a lot of work out of him recently, he has an important role to play in the Saints’ offense, which is in need of him this Sunday with Carr (ribs/right shoulder), Chris Olave (flu), Rashid Shaheed (thigh) and TE Juwan Johnson (quad) all questionable.
Chris Olave- Sit
There is a question mark over Olave’s status for Sunday, but he is expected to play. Currently, he is on a possible to play list due to illness. After missing consecutive practices, Olave is listed as questionable after recovering from the flu, but he felt good enough to meet with the Saints’ medical staff on Friday. If he’s cleared for Sunday, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on him.
Michael Thomas- Sit
The Saints placed Thomas (knee) on injured reserve. Even if he wasn’t injured, his Twitter (X) rant drew a lot of attention that would have likely had him benched.
Blake Grupe- Sit
Although Grupe (groin) is still listed as questionable, I wouldn’t expect him to return for this game. If you picked up Austin Siebert, I would use him.
Rashid Shaheed- Sit
Shaheed is still listed as questionable with a thigh injury.
Saints Defense- Sit
Cameron Jordan: Ankle
Marcus Maye: Shoulder
Pete Werner: Oblique
How does your fantasy roster look? What adjustments are you making this week?
