Earlier this week, we asked you to grade the Saints season and with 47% of the votes, our readers said they would give them a “D” with 38% pf the voters saying they would grade the season a “C.”
This is no surprise given how vocal fans as well as players have been expressing their disappointment on the how the season ended. Back in September, there was a lot of anticipation and expectations surrounding the team due to the signing of Derek Carr and a talent roster that was put together with the hopes to end a two-year playoff drought this season. Instead, the Saints just missed the post season, looking back at that Green Bay game in Week 3 (where they gave up a 17-point lead in the 4th quarter) as the one that got away.
We also asked voters about their confidence level moving forward now the season has concluded. Only 13% of voters feel that the team is headed in the right direction. While the season has ended in New Orleans, there is still a lot of work to be done.
Head Coach Dennis Allen said on Monday that everything is going will be evaluated. Saints players have already cleaned out their lockers and conducted their exit interviews earlier in the week. Coaches and staff are off this week but are due to meet with General Manager Mickey Loomis next week so we can expect some updates and announcements on if there will be any personnel changes after those meetings conclude.
