CSC Wild Card Sunday props and best bets
Bills game line -8(-125)
The Pittsburgh Steelers might be walking into a buzzsaw in the first game on Sunday. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills are suddenly rolling after starting the year slow. In years past, it did seem as if the Bills had peaked early but that is not the case this year. Winning the AFC East came down to the very last game of the season. The Bills have won five in a row going into this game, with three of those wins over current playoff teams. As for the Steelers, they have overachieved once again under head coach Mike Tomlin but are unlikely to be able to upset the Bills in Buffalo. The Bills will win this game by double digits and hit this prop.
Packers game line +8(-136)
From one hot team to another, the Green Bay Packers have won three straight going into wild card weekend. Awaiting is the Dallas Cowboys, who should be 1-3 in their last four games but were bailed out against the Detroit Lions two weeks ago. Admittedly, the Packers three wins were over terrible teams but confidence does a lot for teams going into the playoffs. Leading the Packers is not just Jordan Love, but the return of Aaron Jones who has been dynamic these last three wins. The Cowboys seemingly do nothing but choke in the playoffs, so the pressure is going to be on Dak Prescott and the ‘Boys at home. The Packers might not win, but they keep the game within one score to cover the line.
Rams game line +3.5(-130)
The NFL scriptwriters knew what they were doing with this matchup. The Detroit Lions have finally won the NFC North and to advance in the playoffs they must defeat a familiar face. Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams visit Detroit in primetime. Stafford was unable to win the NFC North in his time with the team and now he can be the man who ends the Lions season on Sunday night. The Rams have been incredible the last half of the season, going 7-1 with their only loss being against the AFC’s top seeded Baltimore Ravens. Detroit has been up and down all season with wins against good teams but losses against bad ones. This game should be hotly contested and very close. Take as many points to be comfortable in the game but this should be enough for the prop to cash.
Aaron Jones over 73.5 rushing yards(-115)
It is likely not a coincidence that the return of a fully healthy Aaron Jones aligns with the Packers recent winning streak. Jones has been banged up all season but is healthy for this playoff run. In his last three games, Jones’ lowest production on the ground was 111 rushing yards. Jones is likely salivating at the matchup as well as the Cowboys are bottom-10 in yards per carry in the last month of football. Jones is in store for a massive game and easily goes over 74 yards rushing.
Tyler Higbee over 29.5 receiving yards(-115)
The Rams and Lions game could very well be a shootout. Both teams boast incredible offensive weapons and coaches who will have their teams prepared. This Sunday night game could be the best game of the entire weekend and the oddsmakers see that as well since it has the highest total of any game. Stafford is going to have to throw against his former team and Tyler Higbee has the best matchup on the field. The Lions have allowed the second-most yards to tight ends in the last month of football, a whopping 75 yards per game. With Higbee averaging five targets per game, 30 yards might be the best prop of the entire weekend.
Long shot of the day
Khalil Shakir anytime TD scorer(+395)
The recent success of the Buffalo Bills has elevated the success of Khalil Shakir. Shakir has recently been on the field much more for the Bills offense, running the second most routes of any player on the team. Shakir has 189 yards on 13 targets in the Bills last three games. The numbers are meager; however, Shakir is running a route on 75% of the Bills passing downs. Josh Allen now trusts Shakir as seen by his six targets in last week’s AFC East winning game. Expect the Bills to roll in this game and Shakir to score as the Bills continue to be one of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs.
