The Carolina Panthers have requested to interview New Orleans Saints VP of Football Administration and assistant GM Khai Harley per source and on Twitter by Ian Rapoport. Along with Harley, Carolina has made their rounds across the league with requesting a few other team General Managers for interviews.
Harley is known for his cap management skills. A pioneer of contract restructures, he has maximized the Saints’ rising salary cap resources. Prior to speaking with Harley about the job, the Saints must approve the Panthers’ interview request. Let’s hope the Saints find a why to keep Harley. It’s understandable that Harley deserves a shot a GM, but it would be a major hit to the Saints organization if he goes.
Would Harley be interested in working for controversial Panthers owner David Tepper? The outcome of this situation will have to be seen.
